4TRADE spreads Christmas cheer in Droylsden

Travis Perkins’ own brand 4TRADE has stepped in to save Christmas for Droylsden gran Marie Ashworth.

Marie, 69, was devastated last month when she woke in the middle of the night to find water gushing through her front door and into her living room. The flood, caused by vandals opening lock gates, ruined her carpet and walls, leaving her home virtually uninhabitable and forcing her to stay with daughter Kerry as she could not afford the repairs.

However, the 4TRADE brand, an own brand supplied through Travis Perkins, is playing Father Christmas with a seasonal paint job to turn her house into a home once again.

In a true community effort full of festive spirit, 4TRADE teamed up with local painter and decorator Eddy Proctor to step in and offer to redecorate Marie’s home. They even got a helping hand from Droylsden cubs, including Marie’s grandson Max.

Together, they tackled the job to make everything bright again for unlucky Marie.

Marie says: “I love to have my family round at Christmas and it was distressing to think that this year it wasn’t going to be possible. I am so grateful to the 4TRADE team for offering to redecorate my house; I will be inviting the whole family round to admire the new paint work.”

Nicola Pentland, 4TRADE Brand Manager, adds: “It is upsetting to see the effects thoughtless vandalism can have on a person or a community. We are delighted to be able to help in this situation and use our 4TRADE paints to get the best result for Marie that will last for a long time to come.”
